Apple Likely to Make Vision Pro Lineup More Affordable in Two Ways (source)
For this mainstream Vision headset, the research firm said that Apple is expected to focus on "affordability and "cost-efficiency" as a main priority, which should make visionOS accessible to more customers at a considerably lower price compared to the Vision Pro. It said the device could have less-advanced displays to keep costs down.
"Possible display options for this model include glass-based OLED displays and LCDs with LTPO backplane technology, both of which offer a balance between performance and cost," said TrendForce, in a press release.

Apple Vision Pro Finally Gets Better Fit, Improved Mac Modes at Year's End (CNET)
The Vision Pro is still expensive and still unnecessary for almost everyone. But when it works, it's damn impressive. The better apps and better fit make me wonder when Apple will keep finessing VisionOS and how it connects to the rest of Apple's ecosystem: When will the Vision -- this one, or the next reported version that could be less expensive -- work with our phones and iPads to cast extra displays, much like Xreal's smaller, cheaper glasses can? And when will the Vision headset get smaller, more comfortable and less dependent on specialized strap solutions to feel more ergonomic?
Apple’s Vision Pro strategy will succeed in creating a two-tier market (9to5mac)
Leaving aside specialist devices like the XR-3, TrendForce believes that Apple has effectively created a two-tier market, with likely demand for both Pro and non-Pro models.
Apple is expected to launch its next generation of VR/MR devices as early as 2026, with a strategy to introduce two distinct models targeting both high-end and mainstream segments.
The high-end model is expected to continue using OLEDoS display technology with a resolution exceeding 3,000 PPI, ensuring an exceptional visual experience. Apple will likely consider sourcing components from suppliers beyond Sony to reduce production costs, potentially including Chinese suppliers currently expanding production capacity.
For its mainstream model, Apple is expected to focus on affordability and cost-efficiency to target price-sensitive consumers. Possible display options for this model include glass-based OLED displays and LCDs with LTPO backplane technology, both of which offer a balance between performance and cost. This dual-track strategy will allow Apple to simultaneously target premium and mainstream market segments, reinforcing its influence in the global VR and MR market.
One of the most advanced pieces of tech is finally on display on a stand worthy of it ✨ Thanks to @BionicLabsOrg for sending it over!

Figmin is described by its creator as a multipurpose app, but it is also mixed reality's largest sandbox. Its expansive tools let people make scenes using Tilt Brush or a voxel creator, and you can place around text, gifs, YouTube videos or Sketchfab models. If you want to get really advanced, objects can be animated with motion or physics, making Figmin a blank canvas that's as small or wide as your imagination.

Developer shares interesting experiences with TabletopKit (source)
TabletopKit first impressions
We are creating a game called The Green Spurt that is primarily a shared, spatial, and immersive escape room experience. With a background in iOS development, some experience with RealityKit, and invested in visionOS, TabletopKit seemed to be something worth taking advantage of, at least on paper.
TabletopKit was introduced this year at WWDC24 in a "lightweight" package of one session accompanied by a sample code project and the relative documentation. At first sight (maybe because the name), it appeared specialized in tabletop games, and we were not exactly doing that by constructing an escape room-like experience, so we had to evaluate it more in depth. Starting with simple questions like how many players, how many tabletops, game rules validation... to more platform (XR) related ones like object layout, ownership, physics, meshes, ... and surprisingly, one by one, our expectations were met.

Keep ON protector for #AppleVisionPro . I received a report that the light seal did not hold properly depending on the size, so I made various prototypes and before I knew it, I had almost completed Version 2, which does not depend on the size of the light seal. It doesn't hit the face, so it might be good.
Sometimes, small ideas can still have a huge impact. This is just something you haven't experienced yet. But like with any immersive experience, this video won’t do justice to the visual sensations you’ll get while wearing the glasses so I highly recommend for you to check it out yourself.
