Apple Vision Pro may be about to get its biggest update yet — no new hardware required (9to5mac)
However, a new rumor from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg suggests, for the first time, that the existing Apple Vision Pro will indeed receive Apple’s AI features. If true, this will be a welcome surprise for customers of the $3500 headset.
It’s also a welcome rumor following the report that three new Siri features with Apple Intelligence may not be ready in time for iOS 18.4.

New app “Prima Immersive” with 16K + 90FPS immersive video (source)
Last week, I got a sneak peek at something that blew my mind 🤯—16K + 90FPS immersive video is here!
16K—that’s twice the resolution of an Apple Immersive Video. The level of detail is so sharp, it feels just like real life. Trust me, this is next-level wild.
The app that blew my mind, called “Prima Immersive” is out today for free. The first episode of “Sessions” features performances by AJ Lee & Blue Summit and was mixed in Dolby Atmos by a Grammy-winning mastering engineer.
This is the ultimate proof that we’re entering a new era of computing.
Open portals to the worlds of pop culture in AVP (source)
Imagine being able to open portals to the worlds of pop culture favorites like The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, Doctor Who, or even visit Sonic chilling in Green Hill Zone. Well, you don’t have to imagine anymore—this Vision Pro app makes it a reality because we truly live in magical times. "Moon Portal" features countless different worlds and awesome portals for you to step into. You can even change the weather in each world! (Something I didn’t do, which is why it’s snowing—sorry!)
Scenery app a spatial computing creation suite (source)
Introducing @scenery_app, a crazy-good Spatial Computing creation suite that I’ve had the pleasure of beta testing over the past few months—and officially launched across all Apple platforms today! 🥳
You can easily craft immersive experiences on macOS and iPadOS while distributing them to visionOS and all other Apple platforms. (Android and Quest support are already in the works!)
Apple Vision Pro, One Year In: The Future Needs to Hurry Up (Yahoo)
I stayed up late one night watching Wim Wenders' 2011 documentary Pina on the Apple Vision Pro, and it was magical. This beautiful 3D film, about the German dance theater pioneer Pina Bausch, made me feel like I was sitting in the theater with the performers.
A year after its release, moments of magic keep popping up with Apple's Vision Pro, but I have to look for them. And most of the magic occurs when watching movies, or when I turn the headset into a giant curved monitor for my Mac. The rest of the Vision Pro's potential remains unfulfilled.
Apple's $3,500 spatial computer is hardly an overnight success, but at that price it was never going to be. The Vision Pro remains a bleeding-edge tech showcase and the most advanced standalone VR/AR headset in existence. It provides a fascinating taste of the unbounded visual experiences of the future. And for certain professional zones – anyone interested in simulation, a display for looking at high-res 3D models, or a flexible iPadOS-based platform to build out some ideas – the Vision Pro can be a powerful tool.
Apple will vastly improve the comfort level of future versions of Vision Pro (source)
Some of the complaints about the original Vision Pro XR Headset was that it was way too heavy for wearing it for long periods of time amongst other complaints. Yesterday, Patently Apple posted a patent application report titled "Apple Invents a new Cartridge System for a future version of Vision Pro to make it much lighter while adding new functionality."
Today, we're covering a second patent application that was published last week for Apple by the U.S. Patent Office simply titled "Electronic Device." Apple's invention relates to adjustable features of a future HMD that will provide a user added comfort when wearing a headset to an extended period of time.
Apple further noted that the goal of head-mountable devices is prolonged and comfortable use, even though each user has a unique facial profile and thus different engagement points. Therefore, a head-mountable device capable of dynamically adjusting for comfortable prolonged use is desired.

Made the first archery app for Vision Pro, out now completely free. Took us some time to tune the gesture and mechanics, would be happy to hear what you think!
The future of mobile work with AVP (source)
The future of mobile work – This fun Vision Pro experiment turned out to be actually pretty amazing! My business partner and I were traveling by train when I shared my virtual display with him, allowing us to collaborate on the same Figma file and brainstorm ideas for a client project. This level of productivity simply wasn’t possible while traveling before—it truly feels like having a full office setup wherever you go. Beyond cool.
Cosmetics brand Laura Mercier launches Apple Vision Pro shopping app (source)
Now, Laura Mercier is building on its partnership with Obsess to roll out a beauty shopping app for Apple Vision Pro, which is controlled by a user's eyes and hands and offered via the App Store.
Laura Mercier's new Apple Vision Pro-enabled app experience allows users to shop and explore products by category and also features shoppable videos and interactive, ultra-high-definition 3D unboxing experiences.
Inside the app, shoppers can seamlessly explore Laura Mercier products while immersed in their choice of metaverse settings, such as a New York boutique or a Parisian design studio.
Mysterious new Vision Pro retail app appears in the App Store (source)
Apple has quietly released a new app that suggests it may soon allow third-party retailers to sell its Vision Pro headset. The “Vision Pro Demo Fit” app was spotted in the App Store Preview by Apple firmware detective Aaron Perris (seen via 9to5Mac), and includes various features for matching customers to their required Vision Pro sizing and accessories.
The Vision Pro is currently only available to purchase directly from Apple. Customers who aren’t being fitted at an in-person Apple Store demo need to use an iPhone or iPad with Face ID to determine a “precise fit” when ordering a Vision Pro via the Apple Store website or app.
