Apple Vision Pro gets Bono documentary for first feature-length immersive video (source)
Premiering globally on May 30, 2025, Apple calls the film a "vivid reimagining of Bono's critically-acclaimed one-man stage show." It features U2 songs, plus never-before-shown footage, but it's the Apple Vision Pro version that will be the remarkable version.
Filmed in 180-degree 8K with Spatial Audio, the new production puts viewers onstage with Bono. More significant than the image quality, the sound quality, or the film's immersive 180-degree view, though, is that it's movie-length.
The ‘Create interactive stories for visionOS’ was another amazing Vision Pro event in Cupertino! Meeting amazing new friends and learning new techniques straight from Apple.
2025 will be another big year for the Vision Pro for those who stay locked in and focused on the possibilities of this new platform.
New techniques building immersive experiences at Apple event (source)
Today's Apple event on building Immersive experiences for Apple Vision Pro was super inspiring 🌈
Was thrilled to see how much of my process for creating Vibescape aligns with how Apple is creating their environments – and I learned some great new tricks too!
Dassault Systèmes Reveals the Next Dimension of Product Design and Manufacturing with Apple Vision Pro (source)
Dassault Systèmes, the world leader in Virtual Twin Experience, today announced that 3D UNIV+RSES powered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will leverage the power of spatial computing to provide a new dimension to virtual twins, with the new “3DLive” visionOS app, available this summer.
To make this vision a reality, Dassault Systèmes has partnered with Apple to integrate Apple Vision Pro into the next generation 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The deep engineering-level collaboration between Dassault Systèmes and Apple has brought together the best of both platforms to deliver this magical experience.
One feature of Vision Pro that is vastly underrated is its magnificent and beautifully crafted software design, making visionOS truly one of a kind. As a UI designer, it’s incredibly satisfying to experience these designs up close while they remain stunningly sharp. It’s my kind of ASMR. On what would have been Steve’s 70th birthday, I can only imagine how much he would appreciate the care and attention we continue to give to human interface design today.
Bringing visionOS to real life – Part Deux! We recreated the “Persona” settings of Vision Pro using real frosted glass and a mirror—making it functional, too. This experiment explores how we can (kind of) replicate the user experience outside the headset and translate a digital medium into an analog one. While it was very complicated to plan and construct—including developing a custom hanging system—it also gave our office a fancy new mirror.
HTC's Viverse Worlds could one day be the YouTube for VR content on Apple Vision Pro (source)
In a bid to try and make VR more of a cross-platform thing, HTC has stepped into the arena with its Viverse Worlds spatial computing platform. Directly likening it to YouTube's democratization of video hosting, Viverse Worlds aims to make it easy to discover and post 3D content online, which on Mac is chiefly through Safari.
The kinds of content discoverable on the platform includes web-based games and VR experiences, as well as 3D Gaussian Splatting environments. There are also opportunities to host interactive 3D manuals, immersive e-commerce showcases, and animated website displays.
Aegis Core new arcade action-like game launches (source)
Aegis Core just dropped for Vision Pro! Grabbing weapons with your hands feels natural, the HUD makes you feel like you’re in a real suit, and the robots make great targets. Arcade action meets mixed reality in the best way. It’s a blast!
Apple Vision Pro review: A revolution in progress (Tomesguide)
The Apple Vision Pro feels revolutionary because of how easy it is to operate. There’s no controllers to deal with. You just use your eyes to look at the element you want to select and then tap your thumb and index finger together to “click.”
While setting up the Vision Pro I immediately got accustomed to the input because you’re walked through a calibration process that involves following a dot around the screen and selecting it. Then you’re greeted with a home screen of iOS-like icons that float in front of your view of the room you’re in.
Vision OS starts with your real-world view as the baseline because the Vision Pro wants to bring digital content to your environment instead of taking it over. And the video pass-through is very life-like, as the dedicated R1 chip is fast enough to stream images to the Vision Pro’s microOLED displays within 12 milliseconds — that’s 8x faster than you blink.

Vision app demo'd at a major AI trade show (source)
It feels like at Backspace we are an early example of exhibiting a Vision app at a trade show, so I thought I'd share this feedback with other devs & enthusiasts here.
The team just spent three days at WAICF (World AI Cannes Festival), demoing our app and also demoing Apple Vision Pro itself to an endless stream of visitors. Our app is Sidekick, an assistant made especially for spatial computing. He stays in your space, ask him anything, he answers quickly.
WAICF is becoming a global AI hotspot (something like 12,000 attendees), and this year, it followed right after the Paris summit, so the energy was quite high.
Theater on Vision Pro added 36+ immersive video (source)
Theater on Vision Pro is incredible for experiencing content. It’s planetarium theater rocks! They’ve recently added 36+ immersive videos—many originally made for IMAX, some in 3D—and a Grammy-winning Lila Downs music album. More albums are on the way. It’s very cool!
Amazing demo of mobile work done with AVP (source)
At the Seattle airport, waiting for my flight to Cupertino for the visionOS developer conference tomorrow! Still can’t believe this is how I get to work. We’re living in the coolest times.
Piano and drums app price reduced until end of month (source)
If you still haven't tried piano and drums on Vision Pro - now its a good time.
Cutting the prices to $2.99 until the end of month before they will increase again with the new big update that's around the corner :]
