Last Week in AVP #16: Apple Prepares to Launch Vision Pro Internationally, New Accessibility Features Coming to visionOS, Spatial Phone Mirroring, and More!
Apple Prepares to Launch Vision Pro in UK, Canada, and Other Countries (Bloomberg)
Gurman reports - Apple prepares to start selling the Vision Pro outside the U.S. First countries include Canada, UK and Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, Australia, France and Germany.
My prediction would be that sales in those countries will begin at WWDC or shortly after.
One of the last roadblocks to selling Apple Vision Pro in China has been lifted (Appleinsider)
In one of the last steps needed before an electronic device goes on sale, the Chinese safety regulators have approved the Apple Vision Pro for sale in the country.
The "China Compulsory Certificate" (CCC) is issued similarly to the European CE or United States Underwriter's Laboratory symbols. CCC approval is mandatory to have, before being bought, sold, or imported into the Chinese commercial markets.
Accessibility Features Coming to visionOS (Apple)
This year, accessibility features coming to visionOS will include systemwide Live Captions to help everyone — including users who are deaf or hard of hearing — follow along with spoken dialogue in live conversations and in audio from apps. With Live Captions for FaceTime in visionOS, more users can easily enjoy the unique experience of connecting and collaborating using their Persona. Apple Vision Pro will add the capability to move captions using the window bar during Apple Immersive Video, as well as support for additional Made for iPhone hearing devices and cochlear hearing processors. Updates for vision accessibility will include the addition of Reduce Transparency, Smart Invert, and Dim Flashing Lights for users who have low vision, or those who want to avoid bright lights and frequent flashing.

Immersed for Apple Vision Pro gives you virtual extra Mac, Windows, or Linux monitors (source)
I tried out Immersed on Vision Pro and found it works, but the experience isn't to the same standard as Apple's Mac Virtual Display. Foveated rendering is harsh and noticeable (a Unity issue we noted in our Vision Pro review), the gamma seems off, positioning the virtual monitors is janky and imprecise, and the connection quality will depend on your home network given it isn't a direct connection. You also can't run visionOS or iPadOS apps alongside it, as Immersed uses a Full Space.
Still, it's very useful to be able to position Mac apps across a total of five monitors. Further, Immersed supports Windows and Linux too, and can forward your virtual Persona webcam to your PC.
