New app in development that controls homelights by tapping (source)
I am building an Apple Vision Pro app to control my home lights — and it remembers where I placed the controls, even after rebooting. Using ARKit’s World Anchors in a full space, the app persists virtual objects across launches and reboots. Now I just look at a light and toggle it on/off. Set it up once. Feels like the controls are part of my space. Thinking of making a tutorial — would that be helpful?
China's 'Vivo Vision' Overtly Copies Apple Vision Pro Design (source)
In the months following Apple's announcement of the Vision Pro, several companies revealed or teased similar devices, including Samsung, which announced in 2024 that it was working on an Android-based XR headset in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. Now, at the 2025 Boao Forum for Asia, Vivo unveiled its first mixed reality headset, called the "Vivo Vision."
Observers were quick to notice that the device's design closely mirrors that of Apple's Vision Pro, including a gray fabric facial interface, a curved glass front visor, two downward-pointing cameras, a knitted rear tension strap, and an external battery in an aluminum casing connected via a braided cable.

ResMed Kontor Head Strap for Apple Vision Pro review: bring balance to spatial computing (source)
I'm a bit of an oddball in the Apple Vision Pro universe because I happen to love the Solo Knit Band. I've tried the Dual Loop Band, but it proved too uncomfortable to use. On the other hand, my Managing Editor Mike Wuerthele hates the Solo Knit Band and tolerates the Dual Loop Band.
The Kontor Head Strap might as well be an Apple-made Tri Loop Band, but it is thicker and provides more surface area to distribute the weight. It's not a bad band, and honestly, counterweights may solve your comfort issues.
