Post launch round up, findings and fun tidbits
What an unbelievable launch week! With my Apple Vision Pro picked up only 48 hours ago, I am still wrapping my mind around how far into the future we have travelled.
“It’s tomorrow’s technology today, is the way I think about it,”
— Tim Cook
I think Tim said it best and I can’t agree more. With that said I have compiled a list of interesting and inspiring things below about the Apple Vision Pro now that it is in the hands of customers.
I am also working on a few Apple Vision Pro projects including
A thorough FAQ for all the things Apple did not cover. So far I have 38 questions and the list is growing by the day.
A meticulous review of AVP as I work the device into my daily workflows in programming and entertainment over upcoming weeks. So far I have the topics separated into 8 sections including camera/display, user interaction model, device ecosystem and more.
A prediction piece on Apple’s product strategy for the Apple Vision Pro at launch and likely how it will evolve over the next decade.
Now onto the fun stuff!

Battery status
Personally I found the battery light confusing, here’s what apple says
Here's what the light means when you first connect the battery to power, or if you move or tap the battery while it's charging:
- Green for several seconds: the battery is charged to capacity.

Here's what the light means when you disconnect the battery from power, or if you move or tap the battery while it's not connected to power:
- Green for several seconds: the battery is charged to 50% or higher.
In the Hands of Customers
Favourite review
Casey is one of the few who actually reviewed the platform, not the gen-1 product. Don’t miss it!
Brings me joy to see people of all ages trying AVP (sources 1, 2, 3)
AVP fun out in the wild (sources 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
I believe that public use of AVP will very quickly be normalized just as Airpods did.

AVP + Hollywood movie
I got stuck at the house because of the LA floods so I couldn’t go into the edit room. So I edited #WickedMovie remotely with my editor … I need to repeat this out loud. I was in it for HOURS editing on a virtual giant screen (the size of a real movie screen) a major motion picture from the comfort of my house.

Alternative to tapping
If you ever find yourself wanting another way to engage the UI without doing the two finger tap, consider this: (source)
And speaking of alternatives, you can point with finger instead of eye with a hidden option in accessibility:
And finally some have reported a better typing experience by forcing some tactile feedback (source):

Here are all the different hacks you might want to try for additional comfort or better FOV. One is not like the other. (sources 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)
