After months of waiting, it’s finally happening! 🎉
After months of waiting, it’s finally happening! 🎉
Here are some updates and reviews since my last update compiled. Feel free to leave me a comment, your feedback is appreciated. 🙏
Vanity Fair
If you haven’t read the Vanity Fair interview, it’s a great read.
“I’ve known for years we would get here,” says Apple CEO Tim Cook. “I didn’t know when, but I knew that we would arrive here.”
Box size
In case you needed the exact measurements of the box (for travel reasons etc). It’s reported as 15.25” x 10” x 8” (38.74cm x 25.4cm x 20.32cm)
Personas work automatically with old apps
It’s been tested that traditional apps that make use of the selfie camera (think snapchat filter etc) will automatically be presented with your persona instead.
Interesting AR apps in development
AR apps will come, developers just need some time.
Facetime can “screen share”
I don’t think this was reported anywhere else but apparently, AVP can screenshare your view. Perhaps this was assumed by most but still exciting to see it in action.
I got a call from another Apple employee and he too was using his own persona. He proceeded to show me a series of costumes — real and virtual that were in his room. We “collaborated.” And that’s when I realized that sharing your entire view with a vision pro is a whole new way of collaborating. It is as if you are letting someone inside your eyes.
As reported by Om Malik
Hand gestures in FaceTime is directional
It was discovered that the direction of your hand gestures during FaceTime will determine which recipient will receives it. The kind of details that keep us coming back to Apple.
Homage to the original iPhone
Brings back memories…
In-store demo
According to apple store employees reported today
Apple Vision Pro appointments are booked only at the store.
30 min session. Suggested booking multiple appointments if you want others in your family to try.
Wear glasses? They have an app that will scan the glasses and they’ll be able to put the correct lenses on the Vision Pro.
You can walk in and buy the “reader” lenses for the Vision Pro.
For those of you picking it up on launch day, good luck and have fun!
3 more days for my own pickup.
I plan to be writing my own review and documenting the pick up process (coming from Canada).
